![]() ![]() Parts of the book are extremely violent and disturbing, so the book does check that box on the old splatterpunk requirements list. I also liked, well maybe not "liked" so much as appreciated, that the splatter scenes in the book made me queasy. I think that the idea of snuff films is as intriguing to read about as it is repulsive, so I really wanted to enjoy a story that brings you inside that world. ![]() I thought that the story itself, the concept, was good. However, I did get the first edition of the book so it's entirely possible that the aspects I didn't like were fixed in later editions. ![]() Gonzalez earlier this week and, no offense to any fans of the book, I just did not like it. I originally posted this in the What Are You Reading This Week thread but I realized my one comment was like as long as the entire comment section combined, so I figured it'd be better to make it its own separate post rather than have a bizarrely long comment in that thread. ![]()
